Happiness

I looked for happiness in seclusion
But my problems kept me company
I looked for happiness in words of comfort
But the words faded
I looked for happiness in friends
They almost always never stayed
I looked for happiness in possession
but my money couldn't buy happiness
I looked for happiness in love,
only sorrow I received
I looked for happiness in fairy tales,
there were no happy endings
I looked for happiness
in pictures that portrayed perfection
I looked for happiness
but in the wrong places
Now I look for peace and contentment
That is my happiness
